Team MAXIM was as strong as ever the past few weeks, winning from coast to coast and dominating 360 and 410 Sprint Car action.
Jason Johnson opened the 14th Annual 360 Nationals at Knoxville Raceway by winning the preliminary feature event Friday evening aboard the Cox MAXIM. Johnson charged from a row six starting spot to claim the victory in the ASCS sanctioned event.
Zach Chappell scored his first ASCS National Tour win of 2004 at Thursday's Nebraska Raceway Park event. Chappell led flag to flag with his MAXIM. Gary Wright was on top of his game in Arkansas ASCS action the week prior, winning with his MAXIM at Yellville and I-30.
Other recent 360 winners using MAXIM Race Chassis include Tim Allison taking the SOD race at Merritt Speedway; Nate Snyder winning at Selinsgrove and also the $2,000 to win event at Williams Grove; Jason Martin scoring victories at Hollywood Hills Speedway's SCOA event, and also sweeping the 2 day ASCS Rocky Mountain Region event at Aztec Speedway; Doug Schenck took Wisconsin honors at Wilmot Speedway; Kevin Welsh toppled the URC at Grandview; Tommy Fogarty (Chico), David Goodwill (Chowchilla), Ronnie Day (King's Speedway), and Darrell Hanestad (Antioch) were winners in California 360's; MSA Lincoln, Illinois results show Chris Urish winning; Terry Gray (Columbus Speedway ) and Marshall Skinner (North Alabama Speedway) were USCS winners; and Dale Howard was a Memphis Motorsports Park victor.
In 410 Sprint Car events, Greg Wilson scored wins at Attica and Lake Ozark (All Stars) with the Hampshire MAXIM; Mark Smith continued winning at Port Royal Speedway with the ZEMCO MAXIM; Steve Kinser scored with his Quaker State MAXIM against the World of Outlaws at Powercom Park; Byron Reed grabbed his first 2004 victory at Fremont Speedway with the Reebar MAXIM; Kevin Schaeffer was in victory lane with his MAXIM defeating Lance Dewease at Gamblers Raceway Park, taking the Al Hamilton Tribute event Sunday, while Brian Leppo became a 410 sprint winner for the first time in his two-year career when he scored at Susquehanna Speedway Park with his MAXIM; Brent Kaeding in his Al's Roofing Supply/BK Racing Maxim led the entire 40 lap of the distance of the Chris Faria Memorial at Tulare, dedicating the win to his Crew Chief Billy Albini; and Brooke Tatnell became the first repeat winner on the IRA schedule, taking Superior's event aboard the Guy Forbrook MAXIM.
