STEVE CANNON RECUPERATING AT HOME FOLLOWING SPRINT CAR CRASH

SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Steve Cannon, 25, of Califon, NJ, who was involved in a serious lap five sprint car crash in the 25-lap feature Saturday, April 21, was released from the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville today.

Cannon is recuperating from a concussion and bruises at home, according to his father, Bill Cannon, in a telephone conversation with speedway communications director Steve Inch.

Cannon's No. 23 sprint car flipped multiple times in turn four and came to a stop against a light pole outside of the speedway. The former super sportsman star and current rookie sprint car driver was extricated from his race car and airlifted to Geisinger at approximately 10:15 p.m. Saturday.
