ASCS SPRINTS ON DIRT RAINED OUT AT WINSTON

ROTHBURY, Mich. (June 19, 2009) - SOD stands for "Sprinkles on Dirt" for the first time during the 2009 season at inclement weather has forced the cancellation of Friday night's Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP event at the Winston Motor Speedway.

Thankfully West Michigan sprint car fans Winston has a second ASCS SOD event scheduled for Labor Day Weekend on Friday September 4th.

Next weekend the ASCS SOD series returns to the Mt. Pleasant Speedway for the first time since 2005 on Friday June 26th, 2009. Then on Saturday June 27th Dustin Daggett will attempt to win his sixth straight ASCS SOD feature at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan.

The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP is in its 30th season of competition. Twenty-two point paying races are on the calendar with three special non-point races making up the 25 event schedule contested throughout Michigan, Ohio, and into Canada.

The American Sprint Car Series, in its 18th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing events, brings the best of Sprint Car racing to nearly 100 different tracks throughout 25 states and Canada in 2009. Anchored by the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of a dozen different Regions throughout the nation.
