ASCS Sprints on Dirt from Ohio to Ontario

TULSA, Okla. (May 22, 2006) -- The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz is gearing up for a weekend doubleheader that kicks off in Ohio on Friday night then winds up north of the border in Ontario, Canada, on Saturday night.

The series takes on the NRA Invaders in a $2,000 to win showdown at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, OH, on Friday night before making the northerly trek to South Buxton Raceway in Merlin, ONT, on Saturday night.

Ohio's Mike Brecht leads the ASCS Sprints on Dirt into the weekend on the strength of his opening night win at Crystal Motor Speedway on May 6.

Brecht leads the way with other top contenders expected to include Ken Mackey, Brett Mann, Gary Fast, Kyle Patrick, Nick Mulheim, Darren Long, Gregg Dalman and defending series champion Tim Norman.

Friday's event atop the high-banked, 0x00bc-mile Limaland Motorsports Park dirt oval is slated to go green at 7:30 p.m. with Saturday's card on the semi-banked, 3/8-mile South Buxton Raceway clay oval getting under way at 7:00 p.m.

The 2006 Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz slate consists of approximately 30 nights of racing at fourteen different tracks throughout Michigan, Ohio and Canada.

In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing at nearly 100 tracks throughout 27 different states and Canada in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
