Daggett Looks To Continue Winning Ways in ASCS SOD Outing at I-96

TULSA, Okla. (May 4, 2009) - The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP make their first half-mile appearance for the 2009 season Saturday night at the I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan. The first of four stops at I-96 also kicks off the Engler Machine and Tool Half Mile Master mini-series contested at select races on track 0x00bd-mile in length or larger.

Coming off the opening night feature win at Crystal Motor Speedway Dustin Daggett looks to continue his winning streak in ASCS SOD competition at I-96. Daggett swept all three ASCS SOD feature events contested at I-96 during the 2008 season. Drivers looking to interrupt Daggett's win streak include former champions Steve Irwin and Dain Naida, who are currently second and third in the point standings.

Defending ASCS SOD champion Brett Mann, who also has two I-96 Speedway track championships to his credit. Several drivers returning to the series such as Dan Hall, Robert Huisken, and Ryan Ruhl also look to make their impact on the series felt at I-96.

The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP is in its 30th season of competition. Twenty-two point paying races are on the calendar with three special non-point races making up the 25 event schedule contested throughout Michigan, Ohio, and into Canada.

The American Sprint Car Series, in its 18th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing events, brings the best of Sprint Car racing to nearly 100 different tracks throughout 25 states and Canada in 2009. Anchored by the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of a dozen different Regions throughout the nation.
