TULSA, Okla. (August 15, 2006) -- The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz takes care of some unfinished business this Friday night at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, MI, as it completes the feature that was postponed by a power outage on July 7.

Heat races and "B" Feature action for the 27-car field were completed before the lights went out in July. Kevin Atkins and defending series champion Tim Norman will be on the front row of Friday night's makeup feature.

The event will lead into I-96 Speedway's Full Throttle Nationals, an event that awards no points.

After a strong weekend that included a win and third-place run, Ken Mackey of Manitou Beach, MI, moved closer to the 2006 ASCS Sprints on Dirt crown by extending his point lead to 67 markers.

It's a dog-fight for second behind Mackey, with just 31 points separating Gary Fast, Gregg Dalman, Dain Naida and Kyle Patrick. Fast holds the advantage in the fight for second entering Friday's feature.

I-96 Speedway is located in Lake Odessa, MI, off I-96 Exit 64, then 0.5 mile south, then 0.7 mile

The 2006 Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz slate consists of approximately 30 nights of racing at fourteen different tracks throughout Michigan, Ohio and Canada.

In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing at nearly 100 tracks throughout 27 different states and Canada in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
