Huskerland Non-Wing 410 Nationals on Tap for O'Reilly Sprint Bandits TNT
TULSA, Okla. (August 11, 2005) - After a banner opening night for the six-event O'Reilly Sprint Bandits Tour 'N Topless swing at Oskaloosa, Iowa's Southern Iowa Speedway on Tuesday night, Round Two fires off Monday night, August 15, at Nebraska Raceway Park's I-80 Speedway with the Huskerland Non-Wing 410 Sprint Car Nationals.
The second event of Sprint Bandits TNT will mark the first time in track history that the unleashed fury of sidewinding, wingless, 410-ci Sprint Cars has ever taken to the 4/10-mile I-80 Speedway clay oval.
Pursuing Sprint Bandits TNT championship honors, Levi Jones of Olney, IL, scored a $30,000 victory over a robust 41-car field in Tuesday night's Non-Wing Ultimate Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway to kick off the six-race swing.
For the balance of the TNT swing, Jones will join a stellar field of entries including Midwest wingless aces Dave Darland, Jon Stanbrough and 2004 Ultimate Challenge winner Dickie Gaines, along with West Coast hotshoes Steve Ostling, Bud Kaeding, Charles Davis, Jr., and Brad Sweet.
Top winged racers including Zach Chappell, former Ultimate Challenge winner Travis Rilat and two-time and defending Lakeside Speedway Wingless Clash winner Jesse Hockett will also be among those in pursuit of Sprint Bandits TNT bragging rights as well.
Albuquerque's "Young Guns", Jason Tanner and Jon Taylor, will pick up the TNT trail Monday night at I-80, with other top contenders expected to include Justin Marvel, Matt Westfall, Kevin Briscoe, Tony Everhart, Mike Martin, Michael Woodruff, Sean Walden and Jeff Lowery among others, providing a "spicy" nationwide mix of entries for the inaugural O'Reilly Sprint Bandits TNT.
Following Monday's I-80 Speedway go, one day of rest will be followed by four consecutive nights of topless racing action. Oklahoma City's State Fair Speedway will be the site of TNT Round Three on Wednesday night, August 17, with Tulsa Speedway on tap for Thursday night, August 18.
On Friday night, August 19, the TNT swing takes to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS, for the first of two nights, with the winner of the Saturday, August 20, TNT finale collecting a $10,000 first prize.
Monday's racing action at I-80 Speedway gets under way at 7:15 p.m. Nebraska Raceway Park's I-80 Speedway is located at Greenwood, NE, between Lincoln and Omaha off I-80 Exit 420. For more information, contact the track at 402-342-3453 or on race day at 402-944-2233.
