ASCS Southern Tour to Reset Oak Level Event

TULSA, Okla. (June 2, 2006) -- The Heintz Performance American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour event originally set for Friday night, June 23, at Oak Level Raceway in Martinsville, VA, has been removed from the schedule but will be made up.

Discussions are under way to determine an alternate date for the semi-banked, 3/8-mile red clay tri-oval to host the ASCS Southern Tour, most likely sometime in July. The announcement should be made shortly.

The Heintz Performance ASCS Southern Tour 2006 slate consists of 16 nights of racing at thirteen different tracks throughout the southeastern portion of the United States.

In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing at nearly 100 tracks throughout 27 different states and Canada in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
