New 311 Ready for ASCS Southern Tour
TULSA, Okla. (June 5, 2005) -- The Heintz Performance American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour fires back into action this Saturday night as the series invades the New 311 Speedway in Madison, NC.
The event atop the lightning-fast high-banked, half-mile clay oval marks the third event of the 2005 season for the ASCS Southern Tour, following previous stops at South Carolina's Laurens County Speedway and Lawndale, North Carolina's Thunder Valley Speedway.
With a pair of podium finishes in the series opening two events, North Carolina's own Scott Young leads the way into Saturday night's showdown at New 311 Speedway, holding a slim 14-point lead over fellow North Carolinian Coby Adams and Virginia's Mary Anne Williams, who enter the night tied for second in points.
Just two more points back in fourth is Pfafftown, NC, shoe Butch Pendergrass, with Georgia's Doug Day rounding out the current top five. Other top ASCS Southern Tour contenders expected for Saturday night's event include Danny Mercy, Doug Gold, Phillip Hearp and Dustin Apple among others.
Saturday night's racing action at New 311 Speedway in Madison, NC, is slated to get under way at 7:00 p.m.
