ASCS SOUTHERN TOUR TACKLES LAURENS COUNTY ON SATURDAY

TULSA, Okla. (May 14, 2007) -- After Mother Nature intervened on May 5, the American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour will make another try at the high-banked, 3/8-mile Laurens County Speedway dirt oval this Saturday night in Laurens, SC.

Cherryville, NC, racer Johnny Bridges, an ASCS Southern Tour winner at Laurens County Speedway last year, leads a strout group of competitors into Saturday night's card after taking runner-up honors in the series season opener at Virginia Motor Speedway on April 28.

Saturday's card, which is slated to go green at 8:00 p.m., marks the second of 17 nights of action for the ASCS Southern Tour in 2007 at a dozen different tracks throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia.

Laurens County Speedway is located east of Laurens, SC, on US 76, then 0.6 miles southwest on SR 127, then 0.1 mile southeast on Racetrack Road. For more information, contact the track at 864-984-2427.

The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series. With a dozen different Regions in addition to the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, ASCS will sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
