ASCS Southern Tour Adds Two More Events
TULSA, Okla. (August 23, 2006) -- Demand for the Heintz Performance American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour continues to be on the rise, with the series adding another pair of late-season events in Georgia and eastern Tennessee.
On Friday night, September 15, the series will makes its first visit to Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, GA. Then on Friday night, October 6, the series has added a date at Crossville's Raceway USA in Crossville, TN.
The pair of additions sets up a pair of exciting weekend doubles for the Heintz Performance ASCS Southern Tour. The Sugar Creek Raceway event leads the way in a Saturday night, September 16, card at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC, while the Crossville's Raceway USA event leads into the Saturday night, October 7, event at Atomic Motor Speedway in Oak Ridge, TN.
With the added dates the 2006 slate for the Heintz Performance ASCS Southern Tour now consists of 17 nights of racing at 14 different tracks throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and east Tennessee.
Currently, with ten events in the books, Coby Adams of Mooresville, NC, leads a hotly-contested championship points race by just five points over Cherryville, NC, racer Johnny Bridges, with fellow Cherryville shoe Lance Moss just three more markers back in third.
The series next outing is Saturday night, September 9, at Atomic Motor Speedway.
In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing at nearly 100 tracks throughout 27 different states and Canada in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
