Lowe's Motor Speedway to Host ASCS Southern Tour Season Finale

TULSA, Okla. (January 25, 2005) -- The Heintz Performance American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour will put the wraps on the 2005 season at one of the nation's premier venues, as The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC, will host the series' season-ending doubleheader on October 28-29.

Located just across Highway 29 from the super speedway, The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway, a 4/10-mile, semi-banked clay oval, is one of the nation's most modern and fan-friendly dirt track racing facilities. The stadium-style facility, which was completed in 2000, has nearly 15,000 seats and will host the American Sprint Car Series for the first time in October.

"We're excited that Roger (Slack) and everybody at Lowe's Motor Speedway recognizes the quality racing product the ASCS Southern Tour will bring them, and it's going to be a great way to finish up the 2005 season," commented ASCS President and founder Emmett Hahn. "We've already got a strong group of racers committed to running the entire ASCS Southern Tour and we're just putting the finishing touches on the schedule for the season."

The ASCS Southern Tour finale at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway will conclude a season that is expected to include approximately 18-20 events. The balance of the schedule will be announced soon.

With the addition of the Southern Tour and the Midwest Region in 2005, the American Sprint Car Series will sanction approximately 120 events at more than 50 different tracks throughout at least 15 states this year.
