McTwo Promotions announced today that non-winged Sprint Cars would be added as part of the 2001 Front Row Challenge event at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa August 6, 2001.

In addition to the highly popular $5,000 or $50,000 to win Front Row Challenge for winged Sprint Cars, a special Non-Winged Invitational will be held in conjunction with the event, paying a minimum of $3,000 to win and $300 to start.

"This will be a true invitational," stated McTwo Promotions' Bill McCroskey. "We want this race to be special and we are going to invite the National Sprint Car Poll's top 25 non-winged drivers from the season-ending 2000 poll to compete, along with 10 promoter's options. Drivers who have already said they would race at this event include Kevin Doty, Jay Drake, Critter Malone, and Donnie Beechler."

The non-winged portion of the Front Row Challenge will be held immediately after time trials for the winged sprints, and will be a feature-only event, expected to be 20 laps in length on the Oskaloosa half-mile track.

"No time trials, no qualifying heats," said McCroskey. "A run what ya brung deal."

McCroskey added that there is the distinct possibility that the Non-Winged Invitational will offer the option to the front row starters of starting at the rear for a chance at a bigger payday if the challenger is able to win from the rear. A hard charger award of $1,000 will also be posted.
