ASCS Sooner Region Makes Fayetteville Debut
TULSA, Okla. (July 5, 2005) -- Fresh off his fourth win, Tulsa's Sean McClelland leads the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region into Saturday night's event at Thunder Valley Speedway in Fayetteville, AR, as the series makes its debut atop the 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval.
Norman, Oklahoma's Danny Jennings tried to chip into McClelland's series point lead this past Saturday night at Lawton Speedway, but McClelland battled into the lead on the final round to capture the win.
With the victory, McClelland enters Saturday's event with a 32 point advantage over Jennings with eleven of 19 scheduled events in the books.
Mustang, OK, racer Kerry McAlister has climbed to third in points, with Sapulpa's Cody Branchcomb and Tulsa's Brian McClelland rounding out the current top five.
The balance of the current top ten in ASCS Sooner Region points entering Saturday night's Thunder Valley go includes Preston Peebles II (Lubbock, TX), Foster Landon (Collinsville, OK), J.P. Bailey (Fort Worth, TX), Derek Cottrell (Fletcher, OK) and Dex Eaton (Owasso, OK).
Thunder Valley Speedway is located south of Fayetteville, AR, on US 71 to SR 156 (Willoughby Road), then 0.8 mile east.

The 2005 American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region slate consists of 19 events at eight tracks throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Arkansas.
In total, including the O'Reilly ASCS National Tour, the Southern Tour and the Sooner, Gulf South, Rocky Mountain and Midwest Regions, the American Sprint Car Series will sanction more than 100 nights of racing in 2005 at approximately 50 different racetracks throughout at least 16 different states.
