TULSA, Okla. (July 6, 2009) -- The American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region fires back into action with a pair of events in Georgia this coming weekend.

On Friday night, the series takes to the 0x00bd-mile slightly-banked Oglethorpe Speedway Park dirt oval in Savannah. Then, on Saturday night, it's on to Woodstock's semi-banked, 3/8-mile Dixie Speedway clay oval.

Sarasota, Florida's Danny Martin, Jr., is out to the early ASCS Rebel Region points lead with the initial three events of the season in the books. Martin, who topped the opening night of East Bay's Winter Nationals in January, is out to a 56-point lead over Pendergrass, Georgia's Brian Thomas, with Floridians Matt Kurtz and Tyler Godwin in third and fourth, respectively. Brad Wickham rounds out the current top five in ASCS Rebel Region points.

Hoschton, Georgia's Matt Linder, winner of the series most recent event on May 30 at Lavonia Speedway, topped last year's ASCS Rebel stop at Dixie Speedway. Kenny Adams won last year's event at Olgethorpe Speedway Park.

Friday's action at Oglethorpe Speedway Park goes green at 8:00 p.m., with Saturday's card at Dixie Speedway firing off at 7:00 p.m.

Oglethorpe Speedway Park is located in Savannah, GA, off I-95 Exit 102, then 2.5 miles east on US 80, then 0.3 miles south on Dublin Rd. (east of Cat Construction Co.), then southwest on Jessup. For more information, contact the track at 912-964-8200.

Dixie Speedway is located in Woodstock, GA, off of I-75 Exit 277, then six miles east on SR 92, then north. For more information, contact the track at 770-926-5315.

The ASCS Rebel Region is slated for 11 nights of competition at eight different tracks throughout Georgia, Florida and Alabama.
