The month culminates over Memorial Day weekend, on the 26th, when the late model stock cars take center stage for a 30-lap special. All four programs get underway at 7 p.m.
Rolling into the month, 24-year old Macungie driver Len Thompson sits atop the speedway's sprint car point standings with 320 points. He is followed closely by nine-time track champion and one-time 2001 winner Keith Kauffman in second, opening day winner Alan Cole, Todd Shaffer and Shawn Keen. In a quest for his first ever Port crown, Thompson currently has a pair of runner up finishes and an eighth.
Four-time champ, McVeytown veteran Kenny Dickson embarks on May with a pair of wins to his credit along with the lead in the late model point standings.
Dickson is trailed in the point's chase by Steve Campbell, Jeff Bryner, Mike Lupfer and Tony Adams.
With two series crowns in the bag, Ickesburg driver Jim Palm currently leads the pro stock points followed by one-time winners Corey Kepner and Glenn Miller, Jason Schmidt and Peanut Heintzleman.
