RIVERSIDE BAR AND GRILL RETURNS TO BOLSTER ASCS PATRIOTS IN 2008
TULSA, Okla. (April 10, 2008) - The format for qualifying for the A-main has changed, but the "Dash for Cash" events will return, with the help of sponsors like Riverside Bar and Grill, who will be putting up the purse at each A-Verdi Storage Container King of Central New York Event.
At the six races held in the heart of New York State, the dash that will pay both cash and shuffle the middle of the starting lineup, will be presented by Riverside Bar and Grill of Gananoque, Ontario, which has been soaring in popularity over the last year.
Riverside Bar and Grill was the brainchild of former ASCS Patriot Winners Rick and Kyle Wilson, who instantly became the hit of the popular tourist destination in the 1000 Islands Region. Along with quality drinks, they also have a wide food selection and room for parties, banquets and other special occasions.
This marks the second consecutive year of Riverside's Support with the ASCS Patriots. In 2007, they helped to make three races $2,000-to-win as well as sponsored all three of the dashes run on those nights.
"Last year's support was greatly appreciated and we are thrilled to have them back again this season," said Patriot Regional Director Mike Emhof. "This will just continue to strengthen the already popular A-Verdi King of CNY Series."
New for 2008, the dashes will now determine starting positions 9-14 for the A-Main. With the top eight in passing points redrawing for their spot, those in need for additional cash and track time will get that in these dashes. Those 9th-14th in passing points after the heats will start straight up in these four lap thrillers, with the finishing order slating rows 5-7.
"We feel this change will make the A-Mains even better in 2008," added Emhof. "We have always seen those that run a B-Main benefit from the extra track time and move up through the pack, this dash setup will give the mid-pack drivers a serious chance at going after the feature win."
Look for the trio of Wilson's to have their Riverside-sponsored sprinters to be at a number of the ASCS Patriot Events in 2008, include the majority of the A-Verdi King of CNY Events. Rick Wilson still lists 2nd on the All-Time ASCS Patriots wins list, and his children Kyle and April have had a major presence through the years, as they continue to fling the dirt in the Patriot Region.
The first of the Riverside Bar and Grill Dashes will take place on opening night, held on May 3 at the Fulton Speedway.
