ASCS PATRIOTS INVADE MCKEAN COUNTY SATURDAY
TULSA, Okla. (May 7, 2007) - After an exciting opening weekend for the ASCS Patriots, the series moves to into Pennsylvania for a stop at the beautiful McKean County Raceway.
The third race of the 2007 season takes place Saturday, May 12, at the 1/3-mile oval at the McKean County Fairgrounds in E. Smethport, PA. Last year MCR scheduled three ASCS Patriot events; only one was able to get in. This year both parties look for a better percentage in this singular event.
In that 2006 event on July 8, Chris Shuttleworth had a "Dream Come True" when he won at the closest track to his home. Chuck Hebing was 2nd in the event, despite having an ill-handling racecar for much of the night.
Hebing also had an ill-handling car at Rolling Wheels on Sunday but turned that into a win. "Cobra" will go after his third-straight win but will have plenty of teams anxious to break into the win column.
Bryan Howland is currently tied for 2nd in points, a position where he ended 2006 in. McKean County is the only race "Flyin' Bryan" missed last year and will have to figure out the track quickly.
A fleet of winless, yet potent ASCS Patriot regulars, such as Don Adamczyk, Geoff Quackenbush, Jared Zimbardi and Ray Preston look to improve on their opening weekend results.
Along with the regulars, this event will feature a number of drivers from Western Pennsylvania and Southwest New York, as well as appearances from some of the Southern Ontario competitors.
