Path Valley Feature to Sean Good
Spring Run, PA_ Defending champion Sean Good raced to his first Path Valley Speedway Park 270 Sprints win of the season and his third overall this year by avoiding early lap mishaps and then outrunning determined charges by Mike Dicely and Dave Socks.
The Middleburg racer said he really enjoys pitting his Elite Chassis #17 against other factory-sponsored sprints and, "Any win at Path Valley is special because we're racing against the best drivers anywhere."
Good started fourth and after all those starting ahead of him wrecked or spun still had to pass Rodney Glass for the lead. Then as the second half of the race went smoothly he gained about four lengths and held that lead ahead of Dicely to the finish. The front five finishers were Good, Dicely, Dave Socks, Glass and Matt Miller.
The 270 Sprints feature was a makeup from April 25 rain. As the mini stocks took the track for the night's second makeup preceding the regular heat races, the evening fog became rain and after several efforts to continue Two Wheel Promotions was forced to cancel the rest of the night's nine-division race.
The annual Pepsi Night that rained out last week has been rescheduled for June 20. The remaining April 25 mini-stock makeup will run next Friday, May 30. That night features the Legends Cars and it is also another Diver Appreciation Night, which includes the season's second "Most Popular Driver" Contest sponsored by Photos by Walt Cox. From the ballots cast for the winner, one fan is drawn to win a free 8x10 photo for autographing with his or her favorite driver.
The Friday night pits were filled with more than 140 cars and sprints and many begged for a chance to race Memorial Day Monday. "We couldn't do that because we have the AMA Northeast Nationals for motorcycles and quads Saturday and Sunday, and Monday is their rain date," Senior Race Director John Winsett explained. Rain checks will be honored for two weeks for all of those in attendance.
