Path Valley reschedules April 11 race to Sunday.

Spring Run, PA_ A Path Valley Speedway Park Friday night rainout for April 11 has set up a very rare daytime racing opportunity for Friday night racers.

The entire program has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 13, with gates open at 11 a.m. and warm-ups at noon. No motors may start before noon out of respect to the track's neighbors and nearby churches, advises senior race director John Winsett of Two Wheel Promotions.

This Sunday race will feature the already scheduled Driver Appreciation Day with rewards from the speedway and a Favorite Driver Contest sponsored by Photos By Walt Cox.

The Sunday makeup race will be the first race of the season for the fast, full-size PA 305 Sprints that will feature Scott Ellerman defending his second consecutive championship against a host of veteran and rookie challengers. The Dwarf Cars will be a second added attraction on the lineup.

Also getting a very rare opportunity to race on a daytime Path Valley track are the 600 Sprints, 270 Sprints, V-8 Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Four-cylinder Thunder Cars.

"We expect to have no problem with our Saturday races, the karts starting at 10 a.m. and the motorcycles and Legends at 5 p.m." Winsett said, "And the track surface should be excellent for Sunday's races. We just had too much rain to race Friday night."

The Path Valley Speedway Park is located in Spring Run PA a mile north on PA Route 641 from the intersection with PA Route 75, halfway between Port Royal and Hagerstown. It is five miles east from the Willow Hill Exit 14 of the PA Turnpike. The new phone number at the track for promoter Ken Geesey is 717-349-7111. For information on the 2003 schedule and rules, race teams and fans can consult the website at www.pathvalley.com or they can email Two Wheel Promotions at twp@pathvalley.com.
