NATIONAL SPRINT TOUR (NST) TO MAKE STOPS AT SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY IN 2006
June 11 and Aug. 5 Race Dates Inked This Week
SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Selinsgrove Speedway reached an agreement this week with the new National Sprint Tour (NST) to bring some of the world's best 410 sprint car drivers to the historic half-mile oval on Sun., June 11 and Sat., Aug. 5.
"We're excited to be hosting these high-profile sprint car races at Selinsgrove Speedway in 2006," said promoter Charles Paige. "A lot of work has gone into renovating the speedway in recent years and bringing the National Sprint Tour to Selinsgrove will be a great opportunity to showcase some of the best in dirt track racing."
Expected to lead the contingent of 410 sprint car drivers into Selinsgrove on June 11 and Aug. 5 will be Steve Kinser of Bloomington, IN. Kinser is a 20-time National Champion and has won a record 12 Knoxville Nationals championships. He has well over 500 career wins in sprint cars, including three wins at Selinsgrove Speedway.
"Selinsgrove Speedway is considered to be one of the fastest dirt tracks in the country and it will be nothing short of spectacular to see Steve Kinser race here again," continued Paige.
Kinser will be joined by rising young star and home-state favorite Lucas Wolfe of Mechanicsburg. Lucas won Selinsgrove Speedway's National Open last September and will be traveling with the National Sprint Tour in 2006.
"We're proud to see Lucas taking his career to the next level with the National Sprint Tour and look forward to his return to Selinsgrove this summer with the series," said Paige.
