Saldana / Kasey Kahne #9 Team joins National Sprint Tour
As the National Sprint Tour continues with its plans for the 2006 season, we are pleased to announce the addition of Joey Saldana and the Kasey Kahne #9 team to the growing list of teams joining the countries newest Sprint Car venture. With the backing of the Kasey Kahne team, Saldana is sure to be a determining factor in the race for the first National Sprint Tour Championship.
"I'm excited to be able to put together a team to run with the National Sprint Tour in 2006 with Joey Saldana driving for me," said Kahne. "We want to be able to run with all of the best cars out there, like Steve and Danny and others, and the best are running with NST. Joey is one of the best out there and he will do a great job. I know my cousin Willy and Jeff and Kevin will put the best cars on the track for him."
"I think it will be exciting to run the new series and help make it grow. It's not going to be easy right from the start but I think with the right people behind it, like Fred, and with Steve Kinser involved and the Tony Stewart team on board, it will be a race series that will grow into something big as time goes on."
"It's too bad there was a split among the drivers but the teams that have been at this for a long time feel that things are going to be better and I want to be a part of the best series. I feel we have one of the best teams and driver and I'm excited to get our #9 team started with the new season."
