Mat Neely to Make Winged Debut

ROBINSON, Illinois (May 30, 2006) -- Mat Neely from Robinson, Illinois is set to make his winged sprint car debut on Friday, June 2 at the National Sprint Tour (NST) race at Bloomington Speedway. Mat will also race in the Midwest Sprint Car Series (MSCS) event at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana on Saturday and the World of Outlaw (WoO) event at Terre Haute Action Track on Sunday.

For his winged sprint car debut Neely will utilize a new Maxim chassis with a Kistler engine under the hood. Proving his diversity behind the wheel this year Neely is already driving for Mat Neely Motorsports for the pavement portion of the United States Auto Club (USAC) National Sprint Car series, the Truckers 24 Hour team for the dirt USAC events and the RW Motorsports team for the dirt portion of the USAC Silver Crown series.

"I'm extremely excited to get behind the wheel of a winged sprint car this weekend. It's going to be interesting to see the difference between a winged and a non-winged car at Bloomington and Terre Haute," said Neely.

This past week Neely competed in a pavement sprint car at Concord Motorsports Park and Anderson Speedway, worked on a pavement Silver Crown car during a test session at Kentucky Motor Speedway, the raced a Silver Crown car on dirt at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Hoosier Hundred event, the King of Indiana Sprint Series (KISS) dirt sprint car race at Lawrenceburg Speedway and a second place finish in the dirt sprint car at Tri-State Speedway on Sunday night.
