MEYERS READY TO DEBUT NATIONAL SPRINT TOUR IN FRONT OF HOMETOWN
Clovis, California (February 24, 2006) -- Jason Meyers and his Elite Racing team are prepared for the season-opening race this weekend at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California as the National Sprint Tour's 2006 racing season gets under way. Meyers, along with many of the rest of the Outlaw stars, have made the transition to the National Sprint Tour for 2006. Meyers is looking forward to kicking off the season in front of his sponsors, family and friends from nearby Clovis, California.
"Following the end of the 2005 season there has been a lot of excitement and a lot of planning at Elite Racing," said Meyers. "We all celebrated our second place finish on the season and set goals for 2006 of earning the championship, but in 2006 we will be contesting that championship in the new National Sprint Tour. I think everyone has done a great job getting the series started and giving the racers a solid schedule. We have our race cars prepared and I am looking forward to a great season starting at Tulare this weekend."
Meyers earned a sixth place finish in the A-Main at Tulare last October and looks to better that finish this weekend with races scheduled for Friday night and Saturday night. With races and race tracks still being added to the National Sprint Tour schedule, Meyers and his team want to start off the season with solid finishes and a top position in the points' standings.
"Tulare is a great track for us," said Meyers. "It is definitely a home track for our team; in fact we hosted an open house at our race shop Thursday night before the race. It is going to be crucial to get a solid start on the season in order to go after this championship for 2006."
The National Sprint Tour will compete at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway on February 24 and 25. The next event on the schedule will be March 10 and 11 at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, New Mexico. For further information please visit www.eliteracing.net or www.nationalsprinttour.com.
