YORK'S ECKERT LOVES TUESDAYS WITH MUSKINGUM COUNTY WIN

Tuesday has to be the favorite day of the week for United Dirt Track Racing Association Pro DirtCar Series point leader Rick Eckert of York. Eckert won his fourth UDTRA win of the season Tuesday night in the Y-City 50 at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, OH.

It was Eckert's third UDTRA win of the season on a Tuesday night driving the Raye Vest Rocket/Cornett Mustang. Eckert passed the defending and four-time UDTRA Champion Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN on lap 26, and then pulled away to take the $10,000 win.

"The longer the race went the better the car got," Eckert said. "This place was racy tonight and you could pass just about anywhere you wanted to ^Ö up high, down low ^Ö it didn't matter. The track champion here Rob House helped me out with set up tonight, and his advice really helped us."

Bloomquist finished second, a full straightaway behind Eckert at the checkered flag. Mike Balzano of Parkersburg, WV challenged for the lead early in the race, and then battled with Steve Francis of Ashland, KY for third late in the race. Balzano finished third.

Steve Francis took the fourth spot and fifth went to Chub Frank of Sugar Grove, PA.
