Dover Leads ASCS Midwest Region into Pair of Events
TULSA, Okla. (July 25, 2006) -- Sixteen-year-old Jack Dover of Springfield, NE, leads the American Sprint Car Series Midwest Region into a pair of new stops for the series this Thursday and Friday night.
Thursday night, the series takes to the 1/2-mile Belleville High Banks clay oval in Belleville, KS, before moving on to the high-banked, 3/8-mile Butler County Motorplex dirt oval in Rising City, NE, on Friday night.
In his first full year of injected Sprint Car racing competition, Dover posted another pair of strong finishes over this past weekend to take over the ASCS Midwest Region point lead. With four top-fives in nine events thus far, Dover holds a slim 26-point lead over Lincoln's Toby Chapman, who ranked second in 2005 ASCS Midwest Region title race.
Lincoln's Jason Danley enters this week's pair of events ranked third, just 95 points out of the lead, with Rick Ideus of Silver City, IA, and current ASCS Northern Plain Region point leader Chuck Swenson of Watertown, SD, rounding out the current top five.
Others among the top ten in ASCS Midwest Region points include Mike Chadd (Lincoln, NE), Jake Peters (Sioux Falls, SD), Chad Humston (Giltner, NE), Brian Brown (Grain Valley, NE) and Luke Cranston (Ness City, KS).
Thursday's card atop the Belleville High Banks in which the ASCS Midwest Region takes on the NCRA gets under way at 7:30 p.m. Friday's action at the Butler County Motorplex fires off at 8:00 p.m.

The 2006 ASCS Midwest Region slate consists of fourteen events at eight different tracks throughout Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri.
In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing at nearly 100 tracks throughout 27 different states and Canada in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
