KNOXVILLE, IOWA (MARCH 5, 2001) - C. Ray Hall's National Championship Racing Association (NCRA) just made Knoxville Raceway's July 27-28 "1200-Pound Nationals" that much bigger by adding it's weight to the historic two-day event. The NCRA, led by defending champion Gary Wright of Hooks, Texas, today signed on as the fourth sanction of the $12,000-to-win event. C.Ray Hall's O'Reilly Auto Parts-sponsored winged 410-cubic-inch sprint car division joins the previously-announced sanctions of Knoxville Raceway, Interstate Racing Association (IRA), and All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC).

According to Knoxville racing director Ralph Capitani, "We have a great deal of respect for what C. Ray Hall has done with NCRA, and we look forward to them joining our 1200-pound National Championships in late July. Drivers like 8-time defending NCRA champion and recent East Bay Winternationals winner Gary Wright, Aaron Berryhill, Mike Goodman, Travis Rilat, Nick Haygood and Earnest Jennings will be great additions to our field. Our Friday night 25-car Challenge of Champions feature, which will pit the top five teams after time trials and heats from each sanction, plus five true invaders, should be one of the best races at Knoxville all season."

Those seeking more information on the $3,000-to-win Newton Days Inn Challenge of Champions preliminary night on Friday or the $12,000-to-win Justice Brothers 1200-Pound Nationals final night on Saturday are urged to call the track office at 641-842-5431.
