Hanover, PA (February 28, 1998) - Kenny Jacobs, driver of the Tim Hughes owned No. 94 sprint car, was injured at Lincoln Speedway today when he lost control of his car and slammed into the turn three wall.

Jacobs started on the tail end of the field in heat three. He entered turn three all alone, racing on the outside groove. The car never negotiated the turn, it's right side making hard contact with the wall.

Jacobs was taken to an area hospital where he was found to have compressed vertabrae, the bones that make up the backbone.

Jacobs is expected to be out for six to eight weeks.

Jacobs has been behind the wheel of the No. 94 car since that seat was vacated by Dale Blaney at he end of last season.
