I-30 Speedway's Third Annual 600 Nationals This Weekend!

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (September 17, 2008) -- It's that time, as one hundred or so of the nation's top Micro Sprint Car drivers take to Little Rock's I-30 Speedway for this weekend's Third Annual 600 Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires.

Following an open Test 'N Tune session on Thursday night, two stellar nights of racing action utilizing the popular Sprint Bandits format of heats and qualifiers will ensue, with Saturday night's championship feature event winner collecting a hefty $7,500.

The 600cc Multis will be joined on both nights by the Horizon Mini Sprints, while I-30 Speedway's full-size Sprint Car division will join in on Saturday night's action.

Approximately 100 drivers from 18 different states throughout the nation have already registered for the Third Annual 600 Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires, with more expected before action gets going full swing on Friday night. The pre-entry deadline and fee of $150 has been extended through Thursday, with the post-entry fee of $250 applicable on race day.

While Saturday night's feature winner earns $7,500, simply making the main event starting grid on Saturday is worth $500. All non-qualifiers on Saturday will receive $275.

Several Sprint Car racing hotshoes, including current O'Reilly ASCoT National point leader Jason Johnson and I-30 Speedway ace Tim Crawley, will test their fortunes against the best in the Micro Sprint ranks.

With defending race winner Jerrod Wilson and inaugural 600 Nationals king Travis Senter, Jr., leading the Micro forces, other top contenders include the likes of Donnie Ray Crawford, ASCS2 point leaders Frank Flud and Andrew Felker, Pennsylvania siblings Ben and Jake Murphy, TSMA championship event winner Justin Webb and I-30 Speedway points leader Josh Ruple among others.

What: Third Annual 600 Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires & I-30 Speedway

Where: I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, AR). I-30 Speedway is located seven miles southwest of Little Rock off I-30 Exit 126 (Alexander Road).

When: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 18-20, 2008; Thursday Test N' Tune practice session begins at 6:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday -- gates open at 5:00 p.m., with racing at 7:30 p.m.

Entry Info: Entries submitted by September 18 are just $150. Entries submitted after the September 18 pre-entry deadline will be $250. Entry forms may be obtained at http://www.i-30speedway.com/pdfs/mni-sprint_flyer.pdf or by calling the track at 501-455-4567.

Admission: Thursday Test N' Tune is free at the front gate. Adult admission is $10 on Friday and $15 on Saturday (or a $20 ticket for both nights). Children ages 6-12 are just $1 on Friday and $2 on Saturday.Thursday Test N' Tune pit passes are $10. Pit passes are $25 on both Friday night and Saturday night.

heats and qualifying races will be in place for both nights of competition. Each night, Heat Races will be aligned according to the pre-race draw, with the passing points system in effect. A subsequent set of Last Chance Races followed by Qualifying Races, with passing points again in effect, will set each night's feature lineup.
