The two Regional series square off at 67 Texarkana Speedway on Friday night, before moving on to Fast Trax Speedway in Chatham, LA, on Saturday night.

Both series feature close championship points battles entering the weekend, with the top two drivers in both series separated by just two points.

After the recent opening pair of events for the ASCS Mid-South Region, Bixby, Oklahoma's Darren Stewart sits atop the Mid-South point charts with a slim two-point lead over Jan Howard. Dale Howard is just four more points back in fourth, with the balance of the current top five including Michael Herrington and Gary Wright.

While just 24 points separate the top-five in ASCS Mid-South Region points, the ASCS Gulf South Region championship chase is even tighter with only 16 markers separating the top five.

Greg Rilat is just four more points back in third, with Chris Sweeney and Darryl Wills rounding out the current top five.

A stout field of entries is expected for both nights of racing action atop the pair of fast, 0x00bc-mile clay ovals in Arkansas and Louisiana.
