Brown Recovering after ASCS Gulf South Crash

TULSA, Okla. (August 1, 2005) -- Greenville, TX, racer Charlie Brown is home and recovering very quickly after a frightening crash in Saturday night's Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region event at Champion Park Speedway in Haughton, LA.

Brown flipped in the evening's second heat race. The impact of the crash cracked Brown's helmet and left him momentarily unconscious. After regaining consciousness, Brown remained disoriented and was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Tests revealed no more than a minor concussion and Brown has already returned home, where he is feeling well and is ready to prep a car for the upcoming ASCS Gulf South events at Motorama Speedway in Beaumont, TX, and Houston Raceway Park in Baytown on August 19 and 20.
