Monhton's Gary Gollub was involved in a violent accident during the first 358 sprint heat in Friday night's rain-shortened program at Williams Grove Speedway.

After flipping down the frontstretch Gollub came to rest upside down at the entrance to turn one. Gollub was then extracted from his battered racer and eventually Lifelined by helicopter to Hershey Medical Center.

Gollub remains in the Intermediate Care Unit with a light concussion, fractures to his vertebrae and arm, along with several facial contusions.

Gollub is expected to be released from the hospital later this week and has said to friends that he expects to return to racing.
