Adler wins Driver's Seat 30 at Fredericktown Raceway.
FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- (June 14, 2002) Daniel Adler passed Shawn Merritt on lap 11 of the Driver's Seat 30 and then he hung on to win the special 600cc Multi special event at the Fredericktown Raceway Friday night. After obtaining the lead, Adler then had to contend with veteran multi driver Casey Barnhouse during the final 12 laps to pick up only his second career victory.
Barnhouse finished in second place with Jimmy Bridgeman third, Kent Buckley fourth and Tommy Boyd fifth. They were followed by Tyler Robbins, Junior Ferguson, Joey Boyd, Merritt and Matt Dotson.
Merritt won the first heat race with Joey Boyd second and Barnhouse third. Ferguson won the second heat with Buckley second and Adler third. Merritt also won the trophy dash with Buckley second and Ferguson third.
In the UMP Late Model feature, Chad Zobrist of Highland, Ill. roared to victory with Ed Dixon edging out Ronnie Jarrells for second, Brian Wolfmeier finished fourth with Mike Hammerle fifth. They were followed by Danny Haynes, John Bohn, Brett Kreke, Mike Abney and Henry Nash. Zobrist won the first heat with Haynes second and Jarrells third. Wolfmeier won the second heat with Bohn second and Dixon third. Zobrist also won the "Dash for Cash" with Haynes second and Jarrells third.
In the Pro Street feature, Karl Francis of Fredericktown was a triple crown winner also. In the feature Francis was first with Rocky Stevens second, Kasey Nations third, Jeremy Greenwalt fourth and Randy Kueker fifth. They were followed by Mike Francis, Nathan Gibson, Billy Craig, Brad Mashek and Rob Fortner. Karl Francis won the first heat with Stevens second and Mashek third. Kueker won the second heat with Gibson second and Nations third. Karl also won the dash with Kueker second and Stevens third.
Not to be outdone, Theran Peal of Bismarck was a triple crown winner in the Pure Street class. In the feature Pearl was the winner with Pete Koenig second, Billy Kelley third, Brad Sutton fourth and Brad Thurston (on his first night out) was fifth. They were followed by Wesley McDowell, Leonard Betch, (car #2B), Russell Mathews and Darrell Jarrett.
Pearl won the first heat with Jarrett second and Sutton third. Kelley won the second heat with Koenig second. Pearl won the dash with Kelley second and Jarrett third.
