SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Empire Super Sprint (ESS) Tour 2001 marks the 18th consecutive season showcasing the very best in "America's Race Cars" in the Northeastern United States and Canada. This year ESS will hand out over half a million dollars to it's competitors from the opening event April 14 at the Black Rock Speedway to the annual awards banquet on November 17th.

The 2001 sponsorship fold is the largest in the club's history with cash and awards topping the $80,000 mark. With a very aggressive effort, many new sponsors have joined all previous sponsors to become a large part of the ESS family. To this date over 50 firms have stamped their logo on the ESS Tour 2001.

American Race Tires and the Lias Tire Racing Division once again is the official tire supplier for the Empire Super Sprints. All competitors must run an American Racer ESS stamped right rear in every ESS full point show. In return, Lias Tire has provided a large cash donation to the 2001 point fund.

Walt's Hobby of Syracuse, N.Y. is once again a major cash sponsor on the ESS Tour. Walt Throne and his large hobby shop will provide $50 cash to the driver that advances the most positions in each A-Main. Walt's Hobby will also award $500 cash to the dash series point champion as well as sponsoring dashes at Fulton, Cayuga County and Rolling Wheels Raceways.

Brodix Cylinder Heads as back for the seventh consecutive season. Brodix is the official heat race sponsor for ESS with each winner receiving $25 cash. Brodix will also award a cash award to the driver chosen to have the worst luck in the 2001 season. For the second year in row, Brodix will also award a set of $2200 spec heads to a driver chosen at random during the annual awards banquet.

VICOMP Graphics in Rochester, N.Y. has returned with it's halfway bonus. The driver leading at the crossed flags in each ESS point show will get $50 cash. VICOMP will also award top wing protectors at the awards banquet as well as lettering the official ESS merchandise trailer. Lance Rightmyer, the owner of VICOMP, is a big race fan and you can see his vinyl work on many of the ESS sprint teams as well as crewing for ESS star Mike Stelter.

ESS competitor R.C. Faigle and his Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar of Syracuse, N.Y. will provide $1000 cash to the Canadian Invasion point fund. The driver that earns the most points in the races held North of the border will get $200 with the 10th place driver receiving $50 from Lucy's. French-Canadian Richard LaBrie and his LaBrie Designs will also award $600 in prizes towards the Canadian Invasion point fund.

In other special awards, Car-Mate Custom Built Trailers and the Car-Mate Dealers will award each A-Main winner an extra $50 if the Car-Mate logo is displayed on the sprint car. Jereco Engines and Parts will again give out $500 cash to the Rookie of the Year, Foar Score Fan Club is awarding cash to the Most Improved Driver of 2001, KSE Racing Products will sponsor each B-Main with a $50 award and Weld Racing /Weld Motorsports will award $75 to the nightly hard luck award winner.
