SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- There is no better way to help celebrate our nations birthday than watching the very best of "America's Race Cars" and the 20th Anniversary Tour of the Empire Super Sprints (ESS). The stars and cars will fill the pit area on Friday night, July 4th at the Black Rock Speedway and Sunday night, July 6th at the Utica-Rome Speedway.

After a rare weekend off, the ESS teams are ready to do battle at two of their favorite tracks in Central, N.Y. The challenging speedway in Dundee, N.Y. opened the 2003 season for the winged warriors with Western, Pa. Star Mike Lutz taking the win. Lutz has continued strong runs throughout the year and currently leads the season long point standings coming into Black Rock. Lutz beat out Mike Woodring, Rick Wilson and Dan Kaszubinski to the stripe on that April evening. All those stars as well as local favorites Lance Yonge, Tim Kelly and Bubby Kerrick will be in the pit area.

Three Engler Machine and Tool heat events will kick off the nights activities followed the Speedway Performance/Walt's Hobby Dash and the KSE Racing Products B-Main. All the action will lead up to the 25 lap A-Main which pays the winner $1450 cash plus added bonuses.

After a Saturday night off it's on to the big half-mile in Vernon, N.Y. where the ESS sprinters top 120 m.p.h. down the long straits. Lutz also took the checkered flag here back in May beating Kaszubinski, Justin Barger, John Karklin Jr. and Gordy Button. These top sprint chauffeurs along with Erin Crocker, Bill Bailey, Doug Emery and Bill Coffey will help make up the field that will top 30 in numbers.

Black Rock Speedway this Friday night, Utica-Rome Speedway on Sunday. There will be fireworks in the air as well as on the track. ESS is coming with their 20th Anniversary Tour and to help celebrate America's Birthday....It will be excitement guaranteed!!
