Bully Hill Vineyards and Black Rock Speedway Showcase a Big Sprint Car Weekend.

DUNDEE, N.Y. - The weekend of Sept. 7 & 8 will see sprint car fans from all over the Northeast and Canada flock to the Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, N.Y. It's the third annual Bully Hill Vineyards Fall Sprint Nationals presented by S.P. Wilson/Lakes Gas.

On Friday night, the Empire Super Sprint (ESS) Tour 2001 will provide a special "Night Before the Bully Hill" event. It will be a full point show for ESS and with the season drawing to a close, fans can expect wild action as over $50,000 awaits the top drivers at the annual awards banquet. Top stars such as Mike Woodring, Lance Yonge and Dan Kaszubinski will be going tooth and nail trying to earn the most points possible striving for the 2001 ESS championship.

On Sat. comes the $22,000 Bully Hill Vineyards Nationals open to any ASCS or KARS legal sprinter. The big 35 lap event will award over $3,000 to the winner, $1000 to fifth place and a cool $300 to start. Each non-qualifier will also receive $150 in the special open competition event. In just it's third year, the Nationals has grown to be one of the biggest events this side of the Mississippi.

Fans will expect a huge field of over 50 of the wild, winged warriors. No less than five organizations have left their schedules open in honor of the Bully Hill event. Along with ESS, the Doorways Unlimited KARS circuit, the VSM Abrasive Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS), the Eastern Limited Sprints (ELS) and the Freedom Raceway Super Sprints (FSS) will be sending their best to be the Bully Hill champion. A special challenge system among the five organizations will also be set up for bragging rights and added dollars.

A special note to sprint car teams is that on Friday, all other licensees from the other organizations (KARS, SOS, ELS and FSS) will be honored. The Saturday event is a true open competition set up where you draw for heat starting positions and let the qualifying begin.

In 1999, Craig "Cricket" Keel etched his name in Bully Hill history by being the first ever winner of the lucrative event. Last year George Suprick came North from his Clarks Summit, Pa. home and brought back the winner's check. Who will be the third champion of the Bully Hill Fall Sprint Nationals?? Woodring, Drury, Coniam, Wilson, Yonge, Emery, Barger, Dumigan, Dempster and a slew of other stars and cars will invade the Yates County oval.

It's a sprint car fan's dream weekend, Fri. and Sat., Sept 7 & 8 (Sun. Sept. 9 rain date) comes the Bully Hill Vineyards Fall Sprint Nationals. For a mere two days, the tranquil wine country area of Central, N.Y. will have to take a back seat to alcohol breathing sprint cars. It's excitement guaranteed!!!
