SYRACUSE, N.Y. - On Friday, June 8, the Empire Super Sprint (ESS) Tour 2001 makes the first of 10 visits to the friendly neighbors of the North. The track known simply as the "BOS", the Brockville Ontario Speedway will showcase the winged warriors for the first time in Canada for the 2001 season.

The quick quarter-mile located near the St. Lawrence Seaway produces some of the fastest lap times on the ESS tour. Sweeping corners and banked turns see the alcohol breathing machines on the gas just about the entire quarter-mile distance.

While Brockville is about two hours away, Manlius, N.Y.'s R.C. Faigle can call this place home. Two seasons ago he captured his first ever ESS A-Main triumph here. Just one year ago, he repeated the same feat beating local hero Rick Wilson to the checkered flag. Faigle will be in the field once again and he's already a winner on the tour taking a victory at the Fulton Speedway on May 23. That very same night Wilson destroyed his sprinter during warm-ups. On June 8th, Wilson makes his ESS return.

The tall grandstands will again be filled to capacity for the first of two visits to the "BOS" Fans will be able to see top stars such as current ESS point leader Lance Yonge, sophomore sensation Randy Years as well as French-Canadian Alain Bergeron. Bergeron and Years have also claimed ESS wins in 2001 while Yonge has two second place finishes to his resume'.

Three Brodix Cylinder Heads heat events will kick off the action followed by the Price Paving/Walt's Hobby Dash and the KSE Racing Products B-Main. The prelims lead up to the 20 lap A-Main that will award the winner over $1500 in cash and prizes. The event also marks the first race for the Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar/LaBrie Design Canadian Invasion points. A total of $1000 ($200 to the champion) will be split up among the top ten in points.

Canada...are you ready for the invasion of "America's Race Cars"??? It's going to be excitement guaranteed!!!
