SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Friday night, May 30th marks the first event to our friends north of the border and it's also the first event on the VSM Abrasives Canadian Invasion Tour for the ever exciting Empire Super Sprints (ESS). Brockville Ontario Speedway (BOS), now under co-promotion of Paul Kirkland and Charlie Caprara, will be the first of nine events to the land where hockey and sprint cars rule.
The teams of ESS will have an added incentive this season with the sponsorship from VSM. Not only will each event in Canada count towards the overall ESS championship but a separate point fund has been established for the nine events. Last year fellow Canadian Ryan Coniam just edged eight-time ESS champion Mike Woodring for the Canadian Invasion championship.
Woodring will bring his familiar black #19 to the BOS along with local favorites in the father and son duo of Rick and Kyle Wilson. The drivers from the US will be led by Dan Kaszubinski, Lance Yonge, along with BOS winners in 2002, teenager Jeff VanDusen and ESS veteran Bill Coffey.
Three Engler Machine and Tool heat events will kick off the action followed by the Foster and Wilson Memorial/Walt's Hobby Dash and the KSE Racing Products B-Main. All the winged excitement culminates with the 25 lap A-Main which pays $1450 to win plus bonuses from many ESS associate sponsors.
The tight, quick quarter-mile always produces exciting sprint car racing and on the second to last evening in May, this event will be no different. Empire Super Sprints and the Brockville Ontario Speedway--it will be excitement guaranteed!
