ASCS East Bay "King of the 360's" Points -- Night 1

GIBSONTON, Fla. (January 27, 2006) -- While Travis Rilat topped the opening night of East Bay Raceway Park's Eighth Annual "King of the 360's" season-opener for the O'Reilly American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores feature event, it was Terry McCarl escaping the night as the top points earner.

Drivers earn points through Heat Races, Qualifying Races, Last Chance Races, "B" Mains and "A" Mains over both the Thursday and Friday night preliminary events leading up to Saturday night's $10,000-to-win Ronald Laney Memorial.

The top six in total points over the two preliminary nights will be locked into Saturday night's "A" Main event, with the balance of the field vying for the remaining feature starting positions through a full card of heat races, Twin "D" Mains, Twin "C" Mains and Twin "B" Mains. Saturday's heat races will be lined up according to points earned on Thursday and Friday, with the balance of Saturday's feature events lined up according to Saturday's heat race finishes and points earned over the first two nights.

After drawing number "100" out of a possible "100", McCarl stormed from the tail of Thursday night's last heat race to take then win then raced from sixth to second in his Qualifying race to earn Thursday night's pole position. A runner-up finish behind Rilat still allowed McCarl to amass the most points for the night.

Other top point earners behind McCarl and Rilat on Thursday night included Tim Montgomery, Greg Wilson, Jason Sides and Wayne Johnson.
