O'Reilly ASCS National Tour ready for Devil's Bowl & Texarkana.
TULSA, Okla. (April 14, 2003) - The O'Reilly Auto Parts American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and United Trailers invades the famed Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX this Friday night, then moves on 67 Texarkana (AR) Speedway to complete the weekend on Saturday night.
Joining the national forces for the both events this coming weekend will be the American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region regulars, who already have completed two events this season.
Headlining the weekend's large field of expected entries are 2001 ASCS National champion Zach Chappell and Texas hotshoes Gary Wright and Travis Rilat. Chappell kicked off the 2003 ASCS National Tour by topping this past weekend's opener in Murfreesboro, AR, getting out to an early lead in the points. Wright and Rilat both claimed victories in ASCS action at Devil's Bowl Speedway last year, with Wright making the trip to victory lane in each of the series' last three visits to 67 Texarkana Speedway.
The trio of Chappell, Wright and Rilat will face plenty of stiff competition, including Darren Stewart, who finished second in the ASCS National opener, and former Devil's Bowl champion Kevin Ramey, who took the show position on opening night for the ASCS. Among other top contenders expected for the weekend are former ASCS champion Garry Lee Maier, Toby Brown, A.G. Rains, Cody Branchcomb, 2002 Devil's Bowl champion Marvin Lough, and defending ASCS Regional champions Kelly Angelette (Gulf South) and Danny Jennings (Sooner).
Prior to Friday night's event at Devil's Bowl Speedway, Travis Rilat will be appearing at the Love's Travel Stop at I-20 and Polk Road (I-20 Exit 466) in Dallas from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Approximately 35-40 Sprint Cars are expected for each night of racing action this weekend.
