BLOOMINGTON, IN (May 19) - With our rainout on May 17, the Bloomington Speedway competitors have one less week to get the job done. For those who finished well the first four weeks, their good finishes mean just a little more. The ones who didn't do as well have just a little less time to make up for their sub-par performances. Of course, there is still plenty or racing to be done; but the competition is tough; and it is never too early to start the climb for the division championships.

Kevin Briscoe has dominated non-winged sprint car competition so far this season; however, there are a number of drivers who want the Bloomington Speedway championship at least as much as Kevin does. Two time Bloomington Speedway champion Derek Scheffel is currently running sixth in the points; but he has proven that he is capable of winning the championship. Brian Hayden, Kenny Carmichael, Kevin Chambers, and Justin Marvel are just as intent on winning their first championship.

There will also be tough competition in the O'Neal Wood Products modifieds and the Tire & Wheel Center super stock divisions.

Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event; and pit admission is $20. Children are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult. Overnight camping is permitted. Coolers are allowed; but no glass containers please.
