DUNDEE, N.Y. (DECEMBER 21, 2001) - It's official. The United Racing Club (URC), entering it's 55th season of competition, will return to the September 6-7 Bully Hill Vineyards Fall Sprint Nationals at the Black Rock Speedway in 2002. Joining URC in the $41,000-plus two-day show will be the stars and cars of the Empire Super Sprints (ESS), Eastern Limited Sprints (ELS), the Freedom Raceway Super Sprints (FRSS), and any invaders which meet the standard set of technical rules for the 360 sprint car class.

According to Black Rock promoter Lin Hough, "It is great having the United Racing Club officially return to the Northeast's premier open- competition 360-cubic-inch sprint car event! I'm personally looking forward to seeing drivers like champion Mike Haggenbottom, Chris Coyle, Bill Brian, Scott Pursell, and Brian Seidel take on the likes of New York's Mike Woodring, Dan Kaszubinski, and Lance Yonge, and Canada's Ryan Coniam, Alain Bergeron and Rick Wilson. Throw in such possibilities as two-time defending champion George Suprick, Tim Hunter of Ohio, Buzz Wilson, Becca Anderson, Greg Coverdale, Kramer Williamson, Curt Michael, Mike Lauterborn, Phil Mott, Gary Troutman and Chris Muhlheisen and this is shaping up to be the best Bully Hill Nationals ever!"

The Bully Hill Vineyards Fall Sprint Nationals, presented by S.P. Wilson Lakes Gas, will be returning to the two-day format utilizing time trials, fully-inverted heats and the Knoxville Nationals-style point system. The Friday night program will again be highlighted by the trio of $1,000-to-win "Sweet Sixteen" preliminary mains, with the Saturday night show climaxing with the D-, C-, B-, and $4,000-to-win A-main championship features for the expected seventy sprinters. It is anticipated that long- time sprint car racing supporter Corky Stockham of the National Parts Peddler will accept the offer to serve as Grand Marshall of the 2002 event.
