The 2003 season finale for the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint Series is this weekend at the Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne IN. This two-day show will decide the top twenty who will we rewarded at the 2003 AVSS National Championship Banquet on Saturday November 1.

The weekend will start with an open practice from 12-8 CST on Saturday for all classes competing. There is a discount on a two-day pit pass from the track. A big party will start after practice is completed on Saturday evening and then it is back to work on Sunday morning. The time frame for Sunday is as follows- pit gates open at 7, practice starts at 8, qualifying at 11 and racing at 2. The incredible season for the stars of AVSS wraps up this weekend with many interesting points's battles yet to be decided. The current point's leader is Leslie MI driver Tom Fedewa who has ten feature wins in the first twenty races this year. In second and still with a slight chance to win the championship is Litchfield MI driver Jason Blonde who has won four races this season including three of the four already run at the Fort Wayne ½ mile. A total of six different drivers have visited victory lane this season and 11 different racers have set fast time this year.

A field of nearly 30 winged sprinters is expected this weekend when AVSS will not only crown the 2003 champion, but also the 2003 Owen's Petroleum Rookie of the Year. This points chase is currently being lead by Millbury OH driver Brian Lay. The young Ohio racer has won two features this year and is currently fourth in overall points.

The 2003 AVSS banquet is at the Holiday INN south convention center in Lansing MI. It will be held on Saturday night November 1. The top twenty drivers and car owners will be honored on this special evening. The AVSS website is www.supersprints.com for more information.
