Qld racer Stephen Bell emerged from night one of the 2000/2001 Australian Sprintcar Title at Brisbane International Speedway holding a narrow one point margin at the top of the leader board over Skip Jackson and Brooke Tatnell with the top ten drivers all within seven points of each other heading into the final night of racing. Bell, a former Victorian now residing in the Sunshine State, was thankful just to be at the Title following a huge rollover at the Parramatta City Raceway and a week of long hours by his team building a new car for this weekend, but was quickly on the pace with a 11.873 second lap and fifth fastest time trial.
