The 2000/2001 Australian Sprintcar Open, Round 12 of World Series Sprintcars, in front of a very large crowd at Brisbane International Speedway came down to a seven lap sprint for the finish between Robbie Farr and Brooke Tatnell after two nights of incident packed racing on January 12/13, with Farr edging out Series leader Tatnell for his second WSS victory of the season. Qld racer Drew Kruck had driven away from his more fancied rivals and looked set to become only the second Qld driver in Series history to win a WSS Round until he bounced over the turn one cushion on lap 28 and rolled the Titan Garages Eagle #36 while leading comfortably. American Danny Smith came through the "B" to finish strongly in third ahead of Cameron Gessner and Skip Jackson.
