26TH ANNUAL SHARON NATIONALS ON TAP FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND

CAMARGO, IL (8-28-06) -- The All Star Circuit of Champions is closing in on the end of yet another season. Labor Day is just around the corner and that means the group will be heading to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH for the 26th Annual Sharon Nationals. The two day event plays host to the BRP Modifieds, Green Flag Sprints, and Pure Stocks on Friday Sept. 1st. Then Saturday, September 2nd, McCandless Ford and CarMate sponsor the All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprints, Pure Stocks, and Emods.

The Sharon Nationals have been a tradition in Eastern Ohio and Western PA for over a quarter of a century and this year will be no different as many of the top teams from the Ohio and Pennsylvania area converge on Sharon Speedway to take on the All Star Circuit of Champions to add to the impressive list of past Nationals winners.

Greg Wilson maintains the All Star season points lead going into this weekend with just a few races left on the 2006 schedule. Brock Mayes and Chad Blonde are in a tight battle for 2nd place as Paul May tries to sneak past both of them from 4th place. Chad Blonde has a commanding lead on the Rookie of the Year points heading into the final stretch. The season is winding down, but the points race is heating up and will be decided in the month of September.

Saturday the gates will open at 4 pm with All Star qualifying beginning at 6:30 pm. Adult General Admission (age 14 & over) $22, Kids (6-13) are $8 and 5 & under admitted FREE. Pit Passes are $30. Camp sites are available for $8 for the weekend and reservations are required. Set-up on Thursday. Please call the track office for more information on camping. Advance ticket sales and camp site reservations may be made until 5:00 pm THURSDAY, August 31st. No ticket sales on Friday or Saturday until gates open.
