Lance Dewease Takes Back Top Spot with O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions

The battle between Lance Dewease and Dale Blaney just got a little tighter. As Dewease left the Butler Battlegrounds with the $5,000 check and victory, he took with him a 3 point lead.

The O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions season championship will pay $50,000 to the winner in 2008. Dewease is in search of his first title with the series while Blaney is looking to cash in on his 3rd career series title.

Both drivers represent well their sprint car rich states of Ohio and Pennsylvania. Dewease's home state of Pennsylvania will feature the All Stars at Lernerville on Friday, August 29th, while Blaney's stomping grounds of Ohio will welcome the series twice this coming weekend. Saturday, August 30th, will be Attica Raceway Park and Sunday, August 31st, the series heads to Hilltop Speedway near Millersburg, Ohio.

Sunday's Hilltop race will not only feature the tightest point's battle in the country, but will also be the site of a benefit race for Jeff Shepard. $2.00 of every ticket sold will go to relieving the costs that Jeff and his family are incurring from his Knoxville Nationals accident.
