O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions Release 2008 Rule Updates

CAMARGO, IL (12-18-07) With the 2008 season just around the corner the All Star staff has been hard at work scheduling events for the upcoming season as well as re-tooling the series rule book to specify new rules, clarify old rules, and increase mandates related to driver safety. The new rules can be viewed online at the official home of the All Stars -- www.allstarsprint.com -- under the "Team Menu" where there is also a printable version. These rules will go into effect for both the All Star Circuit of Champions and the Midwest All Star Series beginning February 1st, 2008.

Some of the highlights of the updated rule book are as follows: The All Stars will adopt the wing rules set forth by the World of Outlaws for 2008 into 2009; The All Star Dash has reverted back to counting toward season points totals; one-way Raceceiver Radios will be mandatory starting in 2008 for the All Star Circuit of Champions (it has not yet been determined if it will be mandatory for the Midwest All Star Series); Billet aluminum engine blocks will be allowed beginning in 2008; There are to be no cockpit adjustable devices other than a wing slider -- forward/backward; Right rear tire shall be the designated spec tire (SC brand only); Qualifying will be reduced to one timed lap if 41 or more cars have drawn a pill (Midwest All Star Series will always follow this format). It is highly recommended that all present and future All Star members read the rule book as many other subtle changes have been made throughout the rule book.

Official rule books are being printed and will be issued to teams when the season commences on February 1st at North Florida Speedway where the All Stars will compete for two consecutive nights. From there the All Stars travel to Volusia Speedway Park for the 37th Annual DIRTcar Nationals for three consecutive nights starting February 5th. The World of Outlaws will follow with their season opener on February 8th, also running three consecutive nights.

Before the racing kicks off in 2008, the O'Reilly All Stars will honor 2007 Series Champion Greg Wilson and the rest of the Top 10 finishers at the Eldora Ballroom on January 5th. Tickets for the banquet are available for $23.00 per person, and all seating is assigned; thus those wishing to sit within a group are encouraged to buy their tickets together. Tickets went on sale December 10 and may be obtained by calling the track office at (937) 338-3815 during normal business hours. Tickets will not be sold at the door and the deadline for purchase is January 2, 2008.
