Ohio Speedweek features a new twist for June 26-July 3 Eight Race "Week"

CAMARGO, IL -- A new twist this year is slated for the 22nd annual Ohio Speedweek, sanctioned by the Haulmark All Star Circuit of Champions. For the first time ever the traditional week of speed for sprint cars will be expanded to eight nights at seven speedways all across the state of Ohio. After several year's absence, Eldora Speedway has been added to this year's version of Speedweek.

The week this year kicks off at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH on Saturday night June 26. Race two is set for Sunday night June 27 at Attica Raceway Park.

Action moves to Wayne County Speedway at Orrville on Monday night, June 28. Tuesday, June 29 Fremont Speedway hosts the first of two All Star Speedweek shows then Wednesday, June 30, the tour swings over to Sharon Speedway in Hartford. The July 1st show on Thursday returns to Fremont. The high banks of Limaland Motorsports Park will host the holiday weekend Friday night July 2 activities, with the K-C Raceway (Chillicothe, OH) Saturday wrap-up show July 3rd paying $10,000 to win.

With a long and storied history, the list of past Ohio Speedweek champions reads like a who's who of sprint car racing. Champions include Bobby Davis Jr., Steve Kinser, Jack Hewitt, Bobby Allen, Keith Kauffman, Jimmy Sills, Dave and Dale Blaney, Sammy Swindell, Kevin Huntley, Frankie Kerr, Joey Saldana, Kenny and Dean Jacobs and Chad Kemenah.

In addition, Keco Performance Coatings will award a trophy to the 2004 Speedweek champion, plus cash or contingency awards to the top three points finishers in the eight race Speedweek. The beautiful winner's trophy will feature the names of all 21 prior Ohio Speedweek champions.
