STENHOUSE JR. THUNDERS TO 3RD SPEEDWEEK VICTORY AT LIMALAND

LIMA, OH (6-30-06) -- With 59 sprint cars signed into the pits at the beautiful Limaland facility in Western Ohio, Night #6 of Ohio Sprint Speedweek was bustling with activity. The EFI-NRA 360 sprints showed up to challenge the All Stars on "Ohio's ¼ Mile Thunder" high banked bullring . The racing was intense all night long and the large crowd was on the edge of their seats as the kid from Mississippi sliced and diced his way to another Speedweek win.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. started on the outside of the front row by virtue of a great qualifying run and transferring from his heat race directly to the A-main. Phil Gressman was on the pole, but when the green flag dropped Stenhouse never looked back.

Gressman stayed on his rear bumper as Byron Reed lurked in third. The battle for fourth was intense with Greg Wilson rocketing around Rob Chaney and Dale Blaney to set his sights on Reed. Reed battled Gressman for the second position as they both kept Stenhouse in sight.

Gressman, Reed, and Wilson raced two and three wide for several laps until Wilson finally took over the third spot. He would then hunt down Gressman as Stenhouse began to enter lapped traffic.

Wilson went to the low side and moved into 2nd as Gressman ran up top and got hung up behind a lapped car. Reed stayed on Gressman's bumper while Blaney and Chaney raced side by side just a few car lengths back.

Stenhouse, now with a comfortable lead, scrubbed the backstretch wall with 15 laps to go coming off of turn two, but it barely slowed his pace as he went on to win the caution free 30 lap event. Wilson closed the gap with just a few laps to go and made several attempts to get close enough to challenge for the win but Stenhouse took the checkered flag followed by Wilson, Gressman, Blaney, and Reed.

Neil Shepherd won the C-main event followed by Jamie Miller, Scott Reilly, and Cory Seeling who all transferred to the B-main.

Veteran racer Danny Smith won the B-main ahead of Kevin Huntley, Brian Ellenberger, and Luke Hall.

The All Star Haulmark Dash was won by Phil Gressman followed by Reed, Blaney, Wilson, Stenhouse, and Chaney.

Next up for the All Stars is Saturday July 1st at Eldora where the 2006 Ohio Speedweek Champion will be crowned. Dale Blaney leads Ricky Stenhouse Jr. by 2 points going into the final event.
